This weekend I took a fun makeup challenge and tried to do my makeup using makeup hacks. So in today’s blog, I will list my top 3 makeup viral hacks that you should try and 3 you should definitely avoid.

3 makeup Viral hacks to try

1. Blush for a lifted look

If you apply blush to the apples of your cheeks then give this a try. So instead of applying blush to the apples of your cheeks, bring the placement to the back of the cheekbones. You can even place the product around your temples. This emphasizes the cheekbones instead of making the cheeks look fuller, creating a more sculpted look.

2.  Soap brows

For this hack, all you need is a plain bar of soap and spoolie. Simply spray your bar soap or soap brows product with some water and rub the spoolie directly on it to create a paste. This acts like a gel for your brow hairs.

While the product is still wet, apply it to the brows and use the spoolie to brush them in the direction you want. Allow the product to dry, and enjoy your fluffy and natural-looking brows that will stay put all day.

3. Bat wing eyeliner for hooded eyes

If you have hooded eyes then you will be thankful that I have shared this hack over here. When the eyes are closed, you can see the distinct bat wing shape. Since people with hooded eyelids have a thicker “hood” that covers most of the eyelid, this eyeliner application method can make a huge difference.

3 makeup Viral hacks to avoid

1. Significantly overlining the lips

While this looks believable on camera, it does not hold up in person. If you want to line your lips before applying lipstick, stick to the natural curve of your lips or overline ever so slightly. Overlining too much becomes very noticeable, especially from the side view.

2. Applying concealer over the brows

Applying concealer to the brows not only uses a lot of product (and concealers are already small to begin with), the product gets clumpy in your brow hairs. This makes it difficult to shape them with a spoolie or fill them with a brow pencil.

3. Applying blush to the forehead, nose, and cheeks for a sunkissed look

To try this technique, apply blush liberally to the cheeks, temples, forehead, and nose. You can use red lipstick in place of blush as well. Yes, your face will look like a strawberry. Apply contour, concealer, and foundation next — in that order — and then blend everything together. While some have had success with this technique, most have simply ended up with a face full of stubborn lipstick.
